We have some new things up our sleeve this year with trails!

A STATE PARKS TRAIL AND BLM AREA TRAILS:

STATE PARKS TRAIL:

This year we will again offer an exciting marked follow the leader type trail on State Park public lands. This will be a GREEN ROUTE trail.

Trail Boss leaves at 8am!

Line up on Holly Rd 1 mile south of S-22

BLM AREA TRAILS:

Red Trail No 1 (Rating 6 out of 10)

This is a great challenging trail with everything from steep rocky hill climbs and descents to some fun sections in soft sand. With rock gardens and windy narrow trails, you will get opportunity to use those lockers. Of course, with plenty of soft deep sand you will need low range 4WD and plenty of skill and courage to steer your course.

Vehicle Requirements:

Highly Modified. Suspension lift and at least 1 hard locker REQUIRED, 2 hard lockers suggested. Minimum 33” tires REQUIRED. Winch suggested. You MUST have the ability to disconnect your sway bar. Body damage possible. Under armor and skids recommended. MUST have front and rear recovery points. All usual safety equipment.

Red Trail No 2 (Rating 6 out of 10)

This is an exciting trail with deep sand, unforgiving rocks, tight narrow spots, hill climbs and steep declines. You will need at least your rear locker, but a front locker will make your day a little more comfortable.

Green Trail No 3 (Rating 3 out of 10)

This is a fun run that will test your basic skills. You’ll hit some sand and some mildly rocky sections and transit through some canyons. Lockers not required but could be helpful. A few twists and turns that could cause some fender scratches.

Vehicle Requirements:

Minimum 31” tires REQUIRED. Recommended to have the ability to disconnect your sway bar. MUST have front and rear recovery points. All usual safety equipment.

BLM Trail General Information:

Since these three trails are approximately 50 miles away from the headquarters, you must have a full tank of gas to begin the trip. An extra tank of gas could be useful, depending on your vehicle. There are NO gas up points close to the trailheads. Line up for the trails will be at 6.30am and departure time will be 7.00am. If you do not meet the requirements for each run, you will be asked to leave and join the main trail in State Parks.

Places are limited to 20 vehicles on each run so sign up is required (there will be a trail boss, mid gunner and ram rod on each run to assist you throughout the run).

Comms on tail will be Ham radio (preferable) and CB.

Sign up sheets will be available from 6pm Thursday 27th Feb. Once each trail accumulates 20 vehicles, the run will be closed. First come, first served. The line up locations will be disclosed at sign up.

You MUST be registered for the TDS Desert Safari to join these runs. You will need to display the 2020 Safari plaque on your vehicle to join the trail.

MEET-UP AREA:

In addition, We are at the heart of hundreds of off road trails that you can access and explore yourself! Near the registration tent we will also have an area where you can meet other like-minded off roaders to go and explore your local desert areas.
